Under the general direction of the Division of Engineering Manager, this incumbent will administers the Architectural and Engineering (A&E) Contracts Program Manager and manage the three A&E Contracts Sections. Contracts are awarded pursuant to Government Code Section 4525 et seq. This incumbent will manage and supervise the activities of the Negotiations, A&E Contracts, and Invoicing and Contracts Management Training sections that support the A&E Contracts Program. The A&E Program is a Department-wide enterprise that will require the incumbent to coordinate frequent review of A&E Program to determine customer satisfaction and continued compliance with rules and regulations. As the A&E Program manager, the incumbent will also oversee Department A&E Contract training and specifically ensure DOE’s A&E contract’s needs. As such, the incumbent may be required to travel to field locations which may require driving a personal or state vehicle on and/or off road.

This person should have knowledge and/or experience processing, reviewing, and developing contract documents in particular A&E contracts and task orders. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience managing a program that affects a Department-wide organization, working with both external and internal partners as well as experience promulgating procedures, policy, or contract language as well as experience in change management and continuous improvement principles. Additionally, this person should have knowledge and/or experience leading a team or group and have working knowledge of supervisory practices.
