Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (subject to change based on clinic needs; occasional weekends or evenings may be required)

Reports To: Clinic Supervisor / Licensed Nurse

Position Summary:

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) provides clinical and administrative support to healthcare providers and nursing staff in a fast-paced clinic environment. This position is responsible for patient intake, vital signs, injections, specimen collection, and maintaining accurate documentation in compliance with state and federal guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform patient intake, obtain vital signs, and document medical histories.
• Assist providers during examinations and minor procedures.
• Administer injections, immunizations, and perform phlebotomy.
• Conduct basic laboratory tests and process specimens.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic health record (EHR) documentation.
• Prepare and clean exam rooms, ensuring adherence to infection control protocols.
• Support patient education and follow-up instructions.
• Comply with:
  • Joint Commission guidelines.
  • Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) standards.
  • Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) rules and directives.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Active Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification (required).
• Current CPR/BLS certification (required).
• Previous CMA experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable transportation (required).
• Up-to-date immunizations.
