Inventory Control Specialist

Location: Farmingdale, NY

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Inventory Control Specialist to support the efficient management of our inventory systems and warehouse operations. This role plays a key part in maintaining optimal stock levels and ensuring accurate tracking of materials across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor inventory levels and reorder stock as needed within authorized limits.
  • Establish and maintain backup sources for high-demand materials.
  • Analyze inventory usage reports to recommend recurring automated orders.
  • Generate timely inventory reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Foster and manage strong vendor relationships.
  • Accurately document goods received, and shipments dispatched.
  • Maintain and enhance inventory software/database systems.
  • Perform regular spot checks and partial inventory audits.
  • Assist in company-wide annual physical inventory audits.
  • Support additional inventory-related functions as required.

Requirements

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong communication skills across internal teams and external vendors.
  • Working knowledge of inventory control principles and practices.
  • Proficiency with computerized inventory systems and keyboarding.
  • High attention to detail and self-motivated work ethic.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations reliably.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior experience in computerized inventory management systems is essential.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit at a computer workstation for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift to 40 lbs as needed.
  • Must be physically able to navigate the warehouse and access inventory at various heights.
