Job Description

Title: Junior Estimator

Location: Remote location

Reports to: Preconstruction Manager

Responsibilities

• Assist Preconstruction Manager with quantity takeoffs and cost estimates
• Review drawings, specs, and addenda for scope clarity
• Perform material and labor takeoffs 

• Review drawings, specifications, addenda, and bid clarifications to identify scope gaps, assumptions, exclusions, and risk items within contractor bids
• Solicit and track subcontractor and vendor quotes
• Compare bids and assist with leveling
• Maintain organized estimate files and bid logs
• Support value engineering and scope review efforts

• Prepare scope summaries and assist in creating handoff documentation to the operations team upon project award

• Input data into spreadsheets 

• Coordinate with PMs, APMs and preconstruction team as needed

Requirements

• 1–3 years of construction estimating experience
• Experience with commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects preferred
• Ability to read construction drawings and specifications
• Strong attention to detail and organization
• Proficient in Excel
• Familiarity with Bluebeam is a plus
• Basic understanding of subcontractor scopes and CSI divisions
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment

Preferred (Not Required)

• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
• Experience working for a General Contractor
• Exposure to Construct Connect
