OPEN JOB: Junior Level Corporate Staff Attorney – (Healthcare / Long Term Care)
LOCATION: Louisville, Kentucky
***Relocation Assistance Available

SALARY: $125,000

EMPLOYER: A leading provider of long-term care (skilled nursing) and short-term rehabilitation
  • Searching for an entry level Corporate Staff Attorney with 1-2 years of experience in a corporate setting.
  • Healthcare law is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience in long term care or in-house experience is a plus. 
  • This position will be onsite in the Louisville office and will report to the Chief Legal Officer.
  • Candidates in the Louisville area will be given preference.
*****Ideal candidate is more of a corporate attorney, not a personal injury attorney, not a defense attorney, not a prosecution attorney.

Essential Functions:
  • General Corporate Work
  • Risk management.
  • Drafting corporate announcements.
  • Filing corporate documents with state agencies.
  • “Corporate housework” (preparing minutes, maintaining records, presentations to the governing body, etc.); and 
  • Litigation
  • Litigation management.
  • Coordinate responses to subpoenas and legal notices.
  • Track and manage litigation.
  • Coordinate with outside counsel and teammates to conduct investigations and defend against claims.
  • Review and summarize salient points of legal pleadings.
  • Facilitate or verify discovery and discovery requests.
  • Initiate and monitor efforts to preserve evidence (i.e., litigation holds).
  • Negotiate settlements; and
  • Attend ADR as needed.  
  • Regulatory Work
  • Review and provide advice on a variety of regulatory and legal matters across multiple jurisdictions. 
  • Employee Matters
  • Conduct internal investigations; and
  • Draft position statements in response to EEOC and OCR claims.
