Property Accountant

Position Overview:
The Property Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting for an assigned portfolio of properties. This role includes preparing monthly and annual statements, managing AP/AR, reconciling accounts, and collaborating with property management to resolve accounting issues.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare monthly and annual financial statements, income statements, and variance analysis.
Record amortization, depreciation, accruals, and month-end journal entries.
Manage accounts payable and receivable functions for assigned properties.
Reconcile bank statements and monitor property cash flow.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and financial regulations.
Assist with property budgeting and forecasting activities.
Collaborate with property managers and other departments to resolve accounting discrepancies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in multifamily or real estate.
Proficiency with property management accounting software (Yardi, MRI, or Onesite).
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
