Job Description

This Registered Nurse position in Labor and Delivery requires a minimum of five years of experience and proficiency in electronic fetal monitoring (EFM). The role involves providing skilled nursing care in a 20-room unit within a Level I trauma center and Magnet hospital. Weekend work is required every third weekend.

Location: Springfield, Illinois, United States,

Responsibilities:

- Providing skilled nursing care to laboring patients.
- Performing patient assessments and administering medications.
- Interpreting electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) data.
- Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.
- Participating in treatment planning.
- Floating to other areas within the scope of practice as needed.
- Maintaining accurate patient records using Cerner.

Required Skills & Certifications:

- Minimum five years of experience as a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery.
- Active Registered Nurse license in Illinois.
- ACLS certification.
- BLS certification.
- Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification.
- EFM interpretation skills/experience.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

- Experience in a teaching hospital.

Special Considerations:

- Every third weekend is required.
- Floating within the scope of practice is required as needed.
- Schedule requests should be discussed with the manager.
- The client may cancel up to 36 hours per 13-week assignment without penalty; additional cancellations will be billed.
- On-call is not required.
- Scrubs are provided.
- Parking permit required (no cost).

Scheduling:

- Three 12-hour day shifts (6:45 AM - 6:15 PM), with the possibility of four 12-hour shifts if preferred.
- Schedule requests should be discussed with the manager.
