Job Description

A Teller serves as the face of First Bank of the Lake, providing exceptional customer service while processing financial transactions accurately and efficiently. This role plays a key part in building customer relationships and promoting banking products and services.

Work Arrangement:

  • This position is onsite in Osage Beach, MO
  • May require working Saturdays or extended hours depending on branch needs.

Job Functions:

  • Perform a wide range of account transactions in an organized, efficient, and secure manner, including check cashing, deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments, cashier’s checks, and account openings/closures.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by greeting clients, answering questions in person or by phone, and resolving routine issues promptly and professionally.
  • Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate banking products and services; refer customers to specialized bank personnel when necessary.
  • Accurately reconcile cash drawers at the end of each shift, including counting and packaging coins and currency, logging damaged currency, and ensuring all transactions are balanced.
  • Maintain detailed transaction records by logging cashier’s checks, preparing currency transaction reports, and documenting special services.
  • Ensure compliance with all bank policies, operational procedures, and security protocols by actively participating in control functions and adhering to regulatory standards.
  • Safeguard customer information and uphold confidentiality to maintain trust and protect bank operations.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment by supporting colleagues and completing related duties as assigned.
  • Must complete all required training, including Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-money Laundering training, suitable to their position within the bank.

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous cash-handling experience is preferred.
  • Prior customer service in financial services, retail sales, or a goal-oriented environment preferred.

  • Strong commitment to delivering high-quality customer service.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both in person and over the phone.
  • Effective time-management skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic math proficiency and computer literacy, including familiarity with banking systems.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and efficiency in transaction processing.
  • Ability to identify customer needs and confidently recommend appropriate products and services.
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work collaboratively and remain composed under pressure.
  • Strong sense of confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive information.

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing for extended periods and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
